  11. Quote for the Day, having garnered such amazing response, now as a new version 
  12. available: 1.1.  In this new version, much has been added.  Features that I have 
  13. wanted to implement, as well as many that have been requested by others, are now 
  14. incorporated.

  17. WHAT'S NEW
  18. ----------
  19. This is a list of the features new to 1.1:
  20. - The Clipboard is now used by Quote for the Day: copy the current quotation
  21.   to be pasted into another application.
  22. - Window position is remembered now.  If you move the window, it will at that 
  23.   location there the next time Quote for the Day is loaded.
  24. - There are now dialogs to control Quote for the Day functionality.
  25. - Now you may choose between one of three actions.  The original 'pick a random
  26.   quotation', but also minimize, or close.
  27. - With the new search feature, you can find quotations by some word or words in
  28.   the quote or author's name.
  29. - Extensive on-line help.  In fact, most of the documentation has been moved out
  30.   of this file into the help file.
  31. - ATM now coexists happily with Quote for the Day.  Thanks to the folks at GO ADOBE.
  32. - Less tangible, but probably just as important, the code has been cleaned up to
  33.   get rid of some little nasties, as well as making Quote require less memory.  
  34.   The executable has grown only 6K, but will occupy considerably less memory than
  35.   the original, due the segmentation of code.

  37. Another significant change is that the quote file is now ANSI, not OEM/ASCII.  This
  38. means that while you can no longer use just any DOS text editor, you can edit
  39. the file with almost any Windows word processor, such as Write or Word for 
  40. Windows.  If you have added quotes to your quote file, you'll need to convert it
  41. to ANSI.  (If you would really rather, you can set ANSI=0 in the [Gravesend Quotes]
  42. section of WIN.INI, and you'll be able to continue using OEM/ASCII, but seriously
  43. consider moving to ANSI soon.)

  46. WHAT TO DO
  47. ----------
  48. Quote for the Day is ready to run 'out of the box'.  If everything's in the same
  49. directory, you should have no trouble running the program.  For those of you that
  50. would rather read the documentation before running the program, run WINHELP and 
  51. then OPEN the file QUOTE.HLP.

  57. number is 707-795-4939, up to 2400 baud supported (so far).  Due to an unfortunate
  58. accident, a different phone number appeared in the About screen of an early (test)
  59. copy of version 1.1; please make a note of *this* correct number.
